Dinner's On

After a day of errands, hot soup sounded good for dinner. Potato leek soup and sharp cheddar and chive drop biscuits. Yum!

In-law's lap quilts in the MAIL!!

Here are the buttons I used on the appliquéd hearts. One is a ceramic teacup with a heart on it.

Civil War Duvet

Ok, after dinner, while mom in-law's quilt was washing and drying, I sewed all of the rows of the civil war duvet. Tomorrow the frame and the sash!

Here are the red and blue flags in the center:

And my seams matched up!

I really love the colors in this quilt. And of course, since it's Moda, it sews up like a dream. No fraying or unravelling!

And here's the fabric for the frame (the plaid homespun purchased at Joann's) and the sashing (the small floral print courtesy of my mom).

Betty's Quilting!

This quilt has toile squares from an antique duvet Tessa bought for me. I was going to make something out of the toile, but my mom got ahold of it and voilà! A new quilt in the works for Tessa! (pictured is only 2/3rds of the quilt top. Still needs frame, sashing and binding. Easy king-size once it's finished!)

Mom also finished knitting some gorgeous lace and has already put them on pale green 600 count cotton pilliwcases. (and yes, that's some of my new Tina Givens Zasu fabric in the background!)

Eeeek! Workroom in Progress

Well, I've been ordering gorgeous fabric. Nothing like daily mail deliveries of little packages filled with limitless creative potential! But I also moved everything off the diningroom table so Xmas could be set up....and now my room is a mess again.
