Ironstone Winery Quilt Show: Post #2 An Assortment of Quilt Entries

And without further adieu, here are some lovely quilts for you to gaze upon! Enjoy!

2010 Ironstone Winery Quilt Show, Murphys CA

On the 22nd I took my mom to the huge quilt show out at Ironstone Winery here in Murphys.  There were several terrific vendors, including Reet of  Reet's Rags to Stitches out of Miranda, CA; a beautiful felt artist with fabulous dolls, penny rugs, bags, wallhangings and a huge selection of wool felt.  Please go take a look at her shop.  Here's is a sample of one of her patterns.  Don't you just love her elephants?

I won't bore you with every minute of our morning at the show, but will just tease you with a few pictures.  The first is of my mom wearing a jacket she made.  It's a pattern we picked up in Wheeler, OR at a quilt retreat.  Email or leave a comment here if you'd like information on the painter's smock jacket pattern.  It's super comfy, has two pockets in front, a one snap closure and a pleat in the back making it hang nicely.

Here was my #1 boutique pick.  It's a burlap coffee bean sack made into a shopping tote.  It's fully lined with a few pockets and has a coordinating fabric bottom.  I have two of these burlap sacks. Guess what I'm planning on making out of them? :-)  Look for one as a future giveaway!

This was my absolute favorite quilt in the entire show. It was made from an Australian pattern, designed by Kim McLean completely out of Kaffe Fasset SCRAPS!  Superb hand applique work and placement of colors make this quilt to die for!

Ok, this post is getting a little long in the tooth.  I'll post the remaining quilt pictures without any text in my next post  - I think it's always inspiring to see what others are making.
